200 organisations are saying no to mega trucks

13 Oct 2009. While the new conservative-liberal government in Germany is planning trials for longer and heavier vehicles, the Europe-wide campaign No Mega Trucks welcomes the 200th mega truck opponent organisation. The National Union of railwaymen, civil servants and transport workers FNCTTFEL from Luxembourg is one of 27 trade unions who support the campaign.

“The German policy change would be against the declared will of Europe’s citizens“ said campaign coordinator Martin Roggermann and announced broad protests based on No Mega Trucks. The opponents of mega trucks include European auto clubs, environmental organisations, consumer groups, unions and business associations. They are located in 22 countries and represent over 12 million individual members.
