Link opinion poll mega trucks switzerland

The LINK Institut asked the Swiss people for their opinion on longer and heavier trucks in November 2009. The result of the representative opinion poll conducted on behalf of the Alpen-Initiative was clear: an overwhelming majority of 80 percent rejects the admission of mega trucks.

The most important reason for the rejection was named with costly modifications and extensions of the infrastructure, followed by negative effects for the environment due to a shift of transport back to the roads and safety issues by mega trucks.
