The great majority of citizens oppose the introduction of mega trucks.
EcoCombi is a deliberately misleading name used by supporters of longer and heavier trucks. The term EcoCombi helps to hide the facts and play-down the dangers posed by very long and very heavy trucks. Worse still, the name EcoCombi tries to associate mega trucks with positive attributes such as ecology and innovation.
EcoCombi is a well-sounding but misleading term used by truck manufacturers and some major road hauliers for a longer and heavier truck.
However, the so-called EcoCombi is not environmentally friendly. It's negative effects on the environment have been demonstrated in several studies.
Nor is a EcoCombi innovative. It is not a new technical development but simply a longer and heavier version of the well known normal heavy goods vehicle (HGV). These mega trucks have also been around for many decades, for example in Scandinavia. In the EU the use of the so-called EcoCombi is currently forbiddden - for good reasons.
